Hello mamas! I’m Zenia, the voice behind zenmama.
A couple of years ago, I created this space to spill the milk on my journey through pregnancy and motherhood with my firstborn. Since then, this little corner of the internet has transformed. I’m now a mother to two boisterous boys (an infant and a toddler), and a NICU mama.
When my second-born arrived in the world 10 weeks early, the motherhood I envisioned disappeared overnight. Instead of bringing my newborn home, I spent months juggling visits to the NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit), showing up for my firstborn at home, learning to mother without a baby by my side, and rediscovering a kind of strength I never knew I needed.
These days, life looks like two very different kinds of chaos under one roof—toddler tantrums in one room, feeding schedules in the other, and me somewhere in between, wondering what else I’ve done for the day apart from being a mum. Here, you’ll find honest stories about raising two little boys, navigating motherhood after the NICU, and figuring out all the beautiful, messy, exhausting, funny, and unexpected bits in between.
If you’re expecting, raising little ones, recovering from the birth you didn’t expect, or simply trying to find your way through motherhood one day at a time—welcome!
I’m glad you’re here!
Keep zen, & mum-on!
❤️,
Zenia
